TV STARS TURN OUT TO CELEBRATE THE PEBLIG PASS

Stars from S4C’s Tipyn o Stâd came to Peblig ward last week to tell locals about the Peblig Pass scheme. The scheme gives Peblig residents a chance to see a range of shows at Galeri free of charge.

The stars set off from Ty Peblig at 38 Ysgubor Goch and hand-delivered leaflets about the scheme to houses in the area. They stopped for a chat with several locals along the way, signed autographs and one fan even took advantage of the opportunity to ask her idol for a quick kiss!

Linda Jones, Ty Peblig Administrator said: “We had a great time with the Tipyn o Stâd actors. The Peblig Pass is such a fantastic idea and we were thrilled that the TV stars wanted to come along and help us get the word out to people who may be able to benefit from the scheme.”

Each time a new Galeri programme is published an accompanying leaflet is available listing which events feature Peblig Pass places. Then it’s first-come first-served for those wishing to take advantage of the opportunity. 100 Peblig residents have already benefited from the scheme.

The brand new Peblig Pass leaflet is available now. In the coming season there is a hugely varied offering – from films to concerts to dance, DJing and beatboxing workshops. Something for everyone!

Linda explains: “Anybody who would like to register for a ticket to one of the qualifying shows can just pop in to see me at Ty Peblig, 38 Ysgubor Goch, and I’ll put their name down on the list to ensure that they’re considered for one of the free places. It’s as simple as that.”

The Peblig Pass is just one of a number of exciting schemes going on in Peblig ward at present, funded by the Communities First programme. The Art in the Community project organises art and crafts workshops for locals of all ages and the Cofis Bach drama project is going from strength to strength and recently staged the highly-successful show Ffaliffolion in Galeri (in association with Sbarc).
