Have
your say! New street signs for Caernarfon
Gwynedd Council in partnership with the Welsh Assembly
Government and CADW (the historic environment service of the Welsh Assembly
Government) have commissioned an Integrated Pedestrian Signage
and Branding Strategy for Caernarfon.
A range of concept designs have been developed for
public comment and will be on display at the following venues during this week
and next :
Capel y Maes (Castle Square Presbyterian Church)
- Wednesday, 12 September (12:00
– 16:00)
- Thursday, 13 September (10:00 –
16:00)
- Friday, 14 September (10:00 –
15:00)
Gwynedd Council Headquarters’ (Shirehall Street) -
Main Reception
- Monday 17th and
Tuesday 18th of September (all day)
Come along and tell us what you think!
The resulting new street signs will greatly improve
Caernarfon’s visitor information, helping to make the town easier and more
enjoyable to visit. Crucially, the street signs will encourage visitors to
explore between Victoria Dock and the Castle, Slate Quay and y Maes. It
is hoped this will encourage the visitors to stay longer and spend more in
Caernarfon’s many shops and cafés.
As well as the new fingerposts and information panels,
the designers have developed some ideas for possible logos to be used to market
Caernarfon using a universal brand which is recognisable and consistent on a
wide rage of publicity material.
If any budding artists have their own designs please
bring them along and we will add them to the display.
