Here are two free options for you this May.

Free Tennis and Free family fun at the Museum

Free family fun at the Museum!

Have you ever wondered what kind of things you might find at your local public museum or gallery but have been afraid to go along?

If so, why not come along to one if the fun family events which will be held at the Lloyd George Museum in Llanystumdwy this May.

The free events held at the Lloyd George Museum are being held to mark Museums at Night Weekend which is part of the Museums and Galleries Month campaign to encourage more people to visit their local museums and galleries

As well as a great opportunity to see some fantastic historical artifacts relating to the life and times of the Llanystumdwy raised Prime Minister, the younger visitors can also enjoy a viewing of Nick Park’s Oscar winning animation ‘The Wrong Trousers’ and a selection of Shaun the Sheep short films which will be held in the museum.

Nest Thomas, Gwynedd Council’s Nest Thomas Museums & Galleries Officer said:

“The whole aim of these events is to show that museums and galleries can be really enjoyable. We hope that it will encourage families to visit us again and discover that it can be great fun to have a look around your local gallery or museum.

“There’s certainly plenty to see and learn, from the Childrens' Discovery Corner and Victorian Schoolroom where you can see the kind of classroom that David Lloyd George himself would have attended to a fascinating exhibition which includes the silver seal used on the Versailles Treaty at the end of the First World War.”

The films will be shown at Lloyd George Museum in Llanystumdwy on Friday, 16 May at 7pm and on Saturday, 17 May at 5.30pm. Everyone is welcome and admission and refreshments will be free but places are limited to 50 per session, so its first come first served.
