Two labour candidates with different values - One supports local businesses the other turns its back.

Caernarfon Online receives numerous complaints about an election leaflet.

With the election only a week away, voters on the Seiont ward have contacted Caernarfon Online to complain about the publication of a Labour leaflet handed out by Tecwyn Thomas.

Labour decided to put two candidates up for the Seiont ward and the general opinion is that it seems both a fighting for the second seat. The candidates in question are Gerald Parry and Tecwyn Thomas, both are heavily involved in the Trade Union and Gerald currently holds the second seat on the ward. (The first seat is currently held by Roy Owen (Independent)).

Most local candidates have opted to have their leaflets printed locally and keeping up with this tradition Gerald Parry chose Gwasg y Bwthyn, St David's Road, Caernarfon. But for some reason and this has angered many of you. Tecwyn Thomas chose to have his leaflet printed  in Kinmel Street, RHYL!

The leaflet by Tecwyn speaks about the Labour Manifesto, but the question is does Labour encourage its members to support their local businesses? Gerald has so why hasn't Tecwyn?

With this in mind Caernarfon Online looked at "The Welsh Labour website" and Martin Eaglestone writes the following on the opening page:

"To secure further success for the Arfon constituency we must be outward looking and positive about the opportunities for new investment. We must try and improve the quality of jobs in the local economy. To achieve this we must be self confident and give a clear message that Arfon is ‘open for business”.

Caernarfon Online is at a loss to work out exactly how long Rhyl has been a part of Arfon?

It seems that many of you are concerned about this and asked us to look into the matter and see why Mr Thomas chose to not support local businesses.

Unfortunately we have written to in the past Mr Thomas but for some reason he chooses to ignore our correspondence; therefore we would guess we would receive the same from  him this time round. Tecwyn Thomas seems to do what he wants and this time it may cost him the election. On our part all we can do is highlight his decision.

Well done Gerald at least we know you are supporting local businesses. If you are thinking of voting Labour on the Seiont ward then the choice of which candidate to chose is simple. Support the one who supports local businesses!
