Caernarfon's very own Sarah Louise of Cae Mur
Caernarfon singer-songwriter Sarah Louise has just
released her new album, Skin Deep. Having built a reputation as a popular Welsh
language singer-songwriter with leading Welsh record label Sain.
Sarah has branched out into the global market with her debut English language album.
Sarah is an
acoustic/folk-rock artist, inspired by female singer-songwriters such as Sarah
McLachlan and Alanis Morisette.
She has an honest song writing approach and
hooky melodies.
She has created an album that addresses a
range of issues such as identity, materialism; issues especially relevant to
young people and women, and has done so with a combination of up-tempo tracks
and acoustic songs.
Sarah released a
Welsh language album in 2005 entitled 'Tir Na Nog.' She had created a style
which not only appealed to a Welsh speaking audience, but to an international
audience, who fell in love with her voice, regardless of language.
The album was
followed by a bilingual EP in 2007, featuring a duet with Canadian singer Tia
McGraff. It was McGraff's husband, Nashville song-writer and producer
Tommy Parham, who saw the potential in Sarah as an international artist, and
invited her to let him produce her first English language album.

Sarah recorded
the album in Ontario, Canada, in the summer of 2007 in the legendary Grant
Avenue Studios, built by U2 producer Daniel Lanois, which has been home to many
a recording artist over the years including Emylou Harris, U2, Johnny Cash and
Bob Dylan.
The album
features some extraordinary musicians such as guitarist Sean Ashby (Sarah
McLachlan) and Mark LaForme (Columbia, EMI, RCA) to name a few.
Sarah has
created an album which combines British and American styles, and has also included
one Welsh language song on her album entitled Fy Enaid.
Sarah was also
recently selected out of thousands of songwrites to attend the BBC Radio 2 (BBC
NewTalent) Songwriters' Academy.
Aside from her
music, Sarah recently graduated with a 1st class honours degree, having studied
journalism, film, English literature and creative writing. She is involved in
the independent film, as a writer and also directed her own music video.

Her new recording is available from Na Nog in Caernarfon.
