Caernarfon loses another big name.
Staff and shoppers were shocked to see another big name close down on the main shopping street this week. A notice appeared in the last remaining show shop on Pool Street the notice in shop window explained the current situation.
It read:
NOTICE TO ALL STAFF AND CUSTOMERS
These premises have been repossessed by the landlord as they have been unlawfully occupied by Tyler Ltd trading as Stead and Simpson. A formal legal notice was sent to Tyler Ltd which expired on 3rd April 2008.
By order of the Landlord Gerald and Carol Summers (of Cheshire).

The legal notice was also displayed in the window and quoted the Law of Property Act 146.
The notice addressed to Tyler Ltd trading as Stead and Simpson states that
"There has been a breach of covenants in that Tyler Ltd have taken a licence from the Tenant of the Premises without the Landlords consent, and you are in possession of the premises without the Landlords consent."
The notice gave 14 days to comply with charges listed and following this period the Landlord would enforce the right of re entry to the premises and a claim for damages would be made.

Caernarfon Online tried to contact both parties, but did not receive a response.
