SUPPORT FOR GWYNEDD AND MID WALES EVENT ORGANISERS
On 12
March, Gwynedd Council, in partnership with Gwynedd Event Network and Mid Wales Tourism Partnership will be holding a
symposium for events organisers in Gwynedd and Mid Wales. The event,
which is free of charge, will be held at The Dragon Theatre in Barmouth between
9.30am and 3.00pm.
During
the one day event, presentations will be given by services within Gwynedd
Council that event organisers often need to contact when organising an event,
including the licensing service, highways and environmental health. Presentations
will also be given by officers from the emergency services about how to go
about arranging a major event, and from Dr. Keith Still from ‘Crowd Dynamics’,
who is recognised worldwide for expertise in crowd control.
In the
afternoon, various workshops have been arranged which will concentrate on
marketing and promoting events, managing events, funding and sponsoring, and
evaluating the success of an event.
Gwynedd
Council Development Portfolio Leader and Gwynedd’s Event Network Chairman
said:
“Major
events play a substantial part in the economical, cultural and social life in
Gwynedd.
“The
individuals and groups who arrange these events
play an important role in promoting their local communities and Gwynedd in
general. I’m very pleased to see such an event being held, and I
hope that many will make the most of the opportunity.”
The numbers of places at the symposium are limited;
therefore it is important that those who wish to attend book their place as
soon as possible. To book your place or for further information, contact
