New logo for Gwynedd’s
Fostering Team
Over the last few weeks, Gwynedd Council’s Fostering Team has held a
competition among the county’s schools to design a new logo for the Team.
With over 200 entries, all of which were of a high standard, the judges’
work was very difficult. The competition was adjudicated by
representatives from the Council’s Fostering Team, as well as Aled Gibbard, the
manager of the Fostering Team, and Councillor Dai Rees Jones, Gwynedd Council’s
Social Services Portfolio Leader.
With such a high standard of competition, there was quite a bit of
deliberation before deciding on the winner. The winning picture of a
‘Happy Home’ by Sam Wyn Jones of Ysgol y Clogau, Bontddu struck the judges as a
very striking and effective logo, and Sam was awarded with vouchers worth
£150.
The logo designed by Sam will be used of all the Fostering Team’s
literature.
Gift vouchers were also presented to those who came out on top in their
age category:
Rhydian Williams, Pontrug (under 7 years old)
Sarah Louise Thomas, Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen (7 – 12 years old)
Donna Haywood, Llanllyfni (12 – 16 years old)

Council said:
“I’m very pleased that this competition has raised awareness among
children and young people about the importance of fostering. I would like
to congratulate and thank everyone who took part in the competition, as well as
their parents and schools for their enthusiasm and support.”
