As Caernarfon Festival week comes to a close Caernarfon Online would like to thank organisers Glyn Dickinson and Mike Lambert for pulling out all the stops in a well organised week.
The Race The Train event was a great success with a train full of runners taking part. The Welsh Highland Railway have made this a very popular event as they attracted runners from all over Gwynedd. A trim/slim Kev Bach of Champion 103 took part with hundreds of other keen runners, making this year's event one of the best yet.
Two beauties "show some leg" on Festival Week
On the Maes locals and visitors were treated to a mixed bag of entertainers from live music to gymnastics, puppet masters and exotic dancing. Stilt walkers and Circas Circus were also involved on the final day.
The event was sponsored entirely by the Royal Town Council and it is such a shame that red tape and protocol stops us having the Pram Race and Carnival parade which townsfolk enjoyed so much in the past.
We spoke to Mike Lambert during the festivities and he told us."I am very pleased with the way things have come together, the weather has been very kind to us this year, but it seems the town in general is somewhat quiet. This week the new fountain certainly seems to have gone down well with locals and there is obviously a feel good factor in town." He went on to say, " The festival has been a success due to the hard work of the group and others who have helped
us on the way. A special thanks goes to the council for sponsoring the event."
CaernarfonOnline were on hand to video some of the events this week and if you were not there then you missed out.
