It seems there is a God!
Following the news in February that the Ministry of Justice were to build a prison on the main tourist approach road to Caernarfon it seems that things are not moving ahead as planned.
Locals are waking up this morning to the news that all is not what it seems with the prison. Bluefield Caernarfon Ltd told Caernarfon Online that they have not had any offer from the M.O.J for the site.
Earlier this year it seemed that things were going ahead with all guns blazing despite strong opposition form many of the towns people. Their concerns looked to have fallen on deaf ears as both Gwynedd and our MP Hywel Williams were planning to go ahead with their plans regardless.
Bluefield Land Caernarfon Ltd has gone public to urge the Ministry of Justice to let them know what is going on. In response the M.O.J. has stated that the wheels are in motion and they are merely following governmental procedures.
Bluefield Caernarfon Ltd have already announced their own proposals which includes a Leisure and housing development. A two day exhibition was held in Caernarfon earlier this year and it seemed that locals preferred this option. Bluefield told us that they will continue with their original plans if no offer is made in the near future.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Justice said: "We are completing our
governance process and will respond to the site owners in due course."
