Farewell Anti Pat!

On Friday 30 January, staff past and present of Ysgol Yr Hendre held a special evening for retiring Caretaker Pat Davies (Anti Pat).
Pat fell short of completing 19 years ( it would have been 19 years this May!) at Ysgol Yr Hendre and has seen many changes in her time caring for school.
An emotional evening was enjoyed  by over 70 guests which included former head teachers and staff as well as the current team.

Pat has suffered for many years with a bad ankle and a recent operation even though successful forced Pat to make a decision in handing in her overalls for a new life at home with her new family. "New" because Pat is looking forward to becoming a grandmother for the first time and it seems that she won't be putting her feet up just yet.

The evening had been arranged by the Hendre staff and everyone enjoyed an emotional evening which included presents, a specially made cake, speeches and verses which had all been prepared without her knowledge.

Generations of children will always remember Anti Pat at Ysgol yr Hendre and she will be missed by everyone at the school. Current Chairman of the board of Governors Roy Owen echoed this when he told us " I can safely say on behalf of all the governors that Pat will be greatly missed. She is indeed one of a kind and we all wish her the very best for the future".
