Concern about vandalism in town
Castle Bakery on Pool Street is the latest business to suffer at the hands of mindless yobs over the weekend. Last year Caernarfon Online exclusively reported on Boots the Chemist having its signs damaged by youngsters.
Over the weekend cars in town were damaged by youngsters as late as 12.40am. This latest attack is totally unacceptable and hopefully will have been caught on CCTV cameras.
Our photo below shows how close Pool Street's CCTV is located to the shop in question, therefore we hope that the same old excuse isn't given that the camera was pointing the wrong direction or was not switched on, our businesses are up against it this year as it is with the loss of Woolworths on our main street.
The Town Council pays towards the running of these cameras and hopefully this will be money well spent if they can capture the culprits on video.

If you know anything about this latest incident then we at Caernarfon Online implore you to get in touch with the local police station on Caernarfon 673333 or if you prefer call the Crimestoppers line anonymously. (you may be eligible for a cash reward).
Members and officers of the Caernarfon Business Consortium meet this week and this topic will be raised at their meeting. Small businesses need to know that larger businesses are concerned and will do all they can to bring this to the attention of all local authorities.

On Friday night a car wing-mirror was mindlessly destroyed on Pool Lane and residents are calling for better policing on our streets.
One resident who wanted to remian anonymous said "If police officers were walking the beat at weekends, then this would prove to be a big deterrent to vandalism." They added "It seems that this latest attack on Castle Bakery shows that police officers need to be on foot at weekends instead of sitting in their warm cars on the Maes!"
As we went to upload this article news came in that four cars at William Street also had their wing-mirrors damaged over the weekend. Proving we have a very serious problem here at Caernarfon. We hope that by highlighting this incident we encourage residents to install their own CCTV which can be purchased fo as little as £20 and recorded directly onto their existing VCR's.
