Bangor Swimming Pool re-opens

Following thorough work to disinfect the shower system, Bangor Swimming Pool has re-opened to the public today (27 January).

The pool had been closed as a precautionary measure, following the detection of elevated levels of legionella bacteria in the shower water.

A Gwynedd Council spokesperson said: “Ensuring the safety of all members of the public who use the Council’s swimming pools and leisure centres is our main priority. Since the closure of the pool remedial measures have been undertaken including thorough disinfection. Further tests have indicated that the problem has been addressed,  and on the basis of appropriate professional advice, we have now re-opened the facility.

“Gwynedd Council would like to take this opportunity to thank pool users for their patience during this time.”
