BILINGUAL COMPETITION ON WRITING AN ARTICLE ON THE SUBJECT “A WORTHWHILE COFI/COFI GWERTH CHWEIL”.

The website Caernarfon Online is sponsoring a competition for writing an article not exceeding 1000 words on the above subject and compositions in either English or Welsh will be accepted. It is suggested that contestants should become conversant with the type of article that regularly appears in Mrs. Margaret Wyn Roberts’ monthly column ‘Pobol Dre’ in Caernarfon’s Welsh community paper “Papur Dre”. The closing date for the competition is September 30. 2009.

4)    Ni chyfyngir ar oedran yr ymgeisydd.

5)     Yr ymgeisydd i anfon ei enw a’i gyfeiriad mewn amlen wedi ei selio ac i ddefnyddio ffugenw o dan ei waith.

RULES FOR THE BILINGUAL COMPETITION OF WRITING AN ARTICLE ON THE SUBJECT “COFI GWERTH CHWEIL/A WORTHWHILE COFI”.

1)    The article should be in English or Welsh and less than 1000 words.

2)    It is permitted to include a photo of the male or female person praised and any other photos relating to the article.

3)    The subject of the article should not have had to be born and bred in the town, but should be known for his/her loyalty to Caernarfon and        for efforts on its behalf.

4)    No restriction on the age of the contestant applies.

5)    The contestant should enclose his/her name and address in a separate sealed envelope and only append his nomme de plume to the        entry.
