Tug of War at Ysgol Yr Hendre

Local kids and parents took part in a sponsored Tug of War and run today at Ysgol Yr Hendre Caernarfon. The Zanshin Karate club takes local kids on a special trip during the summer holidays and this year they plan to do a stadium tour of Old Trafford. It will give children the chance of having their photo taken with The World Club Championship trophy as well as the Premiership and League cups as well.

Gareth Edwards the clubs Instructor told us. " This is a fun event which we try to hold every year, This year we thought of adding the Tug of War to it for the first time ever. One of our students managed to lay hands of a rope and everybody had a great time with the parents proving to be just big kids in disguise."

The club prides itself on giving something back to the community, and is not there to "make money" out of kids or adults. Garth said " There are far too many karate academies around charging silly money and handing out belts to anyone and everyone who takes part. We keep our costs down so that everyone can take part in a great marital art without paying expensive direct debit fees".

Everyone is welcome to train at the club which holds classes at The Community Centre Bontnewydd every Monday 6.30pm, and Ysgol Yr Hendre every Tuesday 6.30pm and Friday 6pm. All you have to do is turn up on any evening for your first lesson FREE.

Give them a call on 01286 676166 for a chat, you'll be pleased you did.
