Hot off the press

Caernarfon Online can exclusively reveal that it is all go for Ysgol yr Hendre. We can announce that £8million has been pledged to build the new school at Cae Phillips in Caernarfon. The news comes as a great relief to the teachers, staff and Governors who have been waiting on the final word for weeks.

It is envisaged that work will start in 2011 and a state of the art "Green" school will be developed on the Cae Phillips football fields, with the entrance being sited on the Beddgelert Road by Gallt y Sil.

Plans have yet to be agreed, but should now be a formality following the announcement.

The School is the largest primary school in Gwynedd and at the moments houses 375 children.

A Governors meeting will be held on Wednesday where the Head Teacher Mr Arwel Jones and Governors Chairman Councillor Roy Owen will address the floor with the information that will confirm the news to the Governors present.

Caernarfon Online would like to congratulate everyone who has been working on this project over the last few months.
More information will be released as we receive it.
