Ysgol Yr Hendre Caernarfon
The plans for the New Ysgol Yr Hendre were unveiled at the school last night, with over a hundred people turning up in a few hours to see what was in store. The new school is to be built at Cae Phillips as exclusively revealed by Caernarfon Online last year. Debate amongst the press and locals had been rife about the possibility of it being built at Cae Top, but the Chair of the Governors Roy Owen and the Head teacher Mr Arwel Jones confirmed that this was
not the case.
One or two small issues have to be ironed out before the final plan is submitted, but it seems things are now moving forward at an alarming rate with ground work already going ahead with opening a road access to the plot.
Last night open viewing was well received by locals, with many questions being put to the architects who were also present on the evening. Local politicians and councillors also visited the show piece amongst them Alun Fred Jones AM, Hywel Williams MP, Dyfed Edwards Gwynedd Leader, Roy Owen Gwynedd Council / Chair of the Governors. and Tudor Owen Vice Chair of Gwynedd Council.
Mr Arwel Jones Head Teacher of Ysgol Yr Hendre told Caernarfon Online he was delighted that things were at long last moving ahead and he was very excited that all the hard work was now going to plan. He wished to thank everyone involved, from Officers of Gwynedd Council, The Governors and staff at the school as well as the Architects and everyone else who has worked hard behind the scenes to make this dream a reality.
