Llanbeblig Cemetery dips to a new low

Following extensive campaigning from Caernarfon Online and hard work from Councillor Tudor Owen, we have recently received numerous complaints from locals who are up in arms about the decaying state of Llanbeblig Cemetery.

Three years ago Captain Harman brought some of his soldiers over to the site to help sort out the wild bramble growth which was getting out of hand.

We visited the site this week to see why people were again up in arms and what we saw was not only sad, but shocking. Large graves have been vandalised beyond all recognition, added to this evidence of binge drinking was rife in numerous areas of the cemetery.

The video we have produced shows more graphic details of the cemetery and shockingly, we also see human excretment and an used sanitary towel only feet away from the Church building itself. This is by far one of the worst sights we have seen in Caernarfon.

On the day we visited the site, we did not see evidence of drug taking, needles or methadone bottles (as we have done in the past). On the plus side it seemed that some of the brambles had dried out and died, which helped with visibility and made it difficult for individuals to hide. Unfortunately as the cemetery is not lit at night time and it is clear most of the vandalism is carried out during the darker hours.

Large graves have been damaged beyond repair and it will no doubt be a sad sight for many locals who still have relatives buried there.

Having campaigned not only on this website, but on BBC and (the then) Champion FM Radio we are now at a loss at what more we can do. No one seems to care, so we would like to suggest this?

WITH THE GENERAL ELECTION LOOMING, WANNABE POLITICIANS ARE GOING TO BE KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR..... ASK THEM  WHAT THEY ARE PLANNING DO ABOUT LLANBEBLIG CEMETERY? AND IF YOU ARE UNDECIDED ABOUT WHO TO VOTE FOR, THEN
VOTE FOR THE ONE WHO PROMISES TO SORT THIS CEMETERY OUT ONCE AND FOR ALL!

It's so easy for politicians to get on the band wagon for this, that or the other, but talk is cheap, lets see one of them deliver for once!

We urge you take a look at the video (above) and if you are faint hearted, we warn you that the footage at around 6mins into the video may be upsetting.
The Americans called it "Shock and Awe!"
