Healthy ageing in Gwynedd
That’s why Gwynedd Council and its partners have produced a single booklet which provides practical information about financial matters, remaining
independent, health and social opportunities locally.
The “Healthy Ageing in Gwynedd” booklet was produced at the request of
the county’s older people, and it has been produced following a series of
consultation meetings with older people throughout Gwynedd over the past year.
Gwynedd Council’s Older People’s Champion, Councillor John
Wyn Williams, said:
“Older people often tell us that they want to get a hold of details and
information about the main agencies that provide services for them. That’s why
that the main organisations that provide services for older people in Gwynedd
have come together to produce this important resource which provides all the
key information in one booklet.
“The booklet includes practical information about health and financial
matters, leisure activities, social services and support for those who want to
live independently as well as contact details for the key organisations.”
The “Healthy Ageing in Gwynedd” booklet was developed by a partnership
of organisations including the Gwynedd Older People’s Strategy, Gwynedd
Council, Public Health Wales and third sector agencies. Also Gwynedd’s older
people had a chance to have their say about the contents of the booklet as part
of a specific reading panel during the production process.
Free copies of the booklet are available for Gwynedd’s older people as
well as care workers who work with older people in Gwynedd.
