Noddfa bring in funding

Caernarfon's longest serving community centre Canolfan Y Noddfa on the Peblig ward has just announced that it has secured a large grant to improve the building.

The Minister for Social Justice and Local Government has decided  that funding of 253.576  will be awarded for the Nursery Extension and Relocation Project from the Community Facilities and Activities Program (CFAP) under section 126 of the Housing grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.

Time bound approval in principle is given in those cases where not all the match funding is in place or planning permission/listed building consent not granted to allow the project to proceed immediately.

Tir a Mon on Anglesey have also approved a 23,000 grant for the centre. The CFAP grant is conditional that it will last for twelve months from the date the letter was received.

We spoke to the officers and staff at the center and it was obvious by their enthusiasm that they were over the moon by the news. Check out our video above for interviews with the Chair and Vice Chair as well as Helen and Eiriona who work at the centre.
