Hendre School Governor and Gwynedd Councillor Roy Owen gives us a guided tour.

"The new state of the art school will not only be the flagship school for Gwynedd but for the all of Wales"

Upon entering the new school, you immediately walk into another world. Surely this isn't in Caernarfon? The first feeling is that you are walking into something very special and a place our youth will be proud to be a part of.

I have to take my hat off to everyone involved in this project. Gwynedd Council and everyone else deserves a pat on the back as a dream comes true for head teacher Arwel Jones and his chairman Councillor Roy Owen.

Sitting on the boundaries of the Seiont and Peblig wards, Ysgol Hendre can boast some fantastic views and the facilities on offer are all on site.
From purpose built gardens and music rooms to spacious open plan classrooms and a sport hall to die for.

Safe access and drop off points for pupils and separate access and parking for the staff and teachers. makes you realise that great care has been taken to ensure that this school has everything.

Ysgol Yr Hendre already had the title of being the biggest in Gwynedd, now it will not only be the biggest, but it will also be the best!

Councillor Owen told us "The work behind the scenes to make this possible has been hard for everyone concerned, but as we can see, it has all been worthwhile. We can now boast that not only do we have the jewel in the crown for schools in Gwynedd, but we also have the jewel in the crown for all of Wales! I am very proud to be a part of this project and would like to congratulate everyone, from the Governors, to the council to the contractors and numerous other bodies and individuals who have worked tirelessly making our dream a reality".
