Fun Day at Hendre

Cyfeillion (Friends of) Ysgol Yr Hendre will be hosting a Fun Day (Miri Medi) for families on SUNDAY 18th SEPTEMBER (10am-5pm) on the school grounds.  Admission is £1 for each adult and free for all pupils at the school.  Nathan Craig (ex-pupil of Ysgol Yr Hendre and Everton FC footballer) will be opening the day at 10am.  We are aiming to bring the whole community together to raise funds to support the school and its pupils.  The day is part of a series of events leading up to a celebration of the school before the staff and children move to their new school in 2012.

Activities will include:

·        Car Boot Sale (limited number of pitches which must be reserved in advance @ £5 / car. Gates will open @ 8.30am; Pitches for the car boot sale must be reserved in advance by notifying Eleri Pritchard on 0789 0630 963 or by emailing: cyfeillion@hotmail.co.uk.);

·        Hot & cold drinks & snacks (inc. bacon baps, fruit salad, hot dogs, etc.);

·        Children’s competitions – netball & penalty shoot out; decorating fruit & vegetables.

·        Cake competition (adults & children (juniors & infants); registrations taken on the day before 12pm; categories for adults: 1. sponge cake, 2. 3xfruit scones, 3. whole shortbread; for the children: 2 decorated fairy cakes; certificates and commemorative wooden spoons for the top 3 places in each category).

·        Face painting & nail art;

·        Many varied stalls including cakes, tombola, toys, crafts, bottles, books;

·        BIG raffle (1st prize: weekend hotel break in Cardifffor two; 2nd prize: Nintendo DS; 3rd prize: £25, & many more prizes);

·        Exhibitions by the emergency services (police, fire, ambulance);
