Gwynedd first time buyers
An information fair was
recently held by Gwynedd Council and partners at Y Ganolfan, Porthmadog for
first time buyers. Over 80 people attend with people travelling form various
parts of the county to receive valuable advice and information from experts who
work in the housing sector.
First time buyers and
their families had an opportunity to listen to specialist speakers from
different areas of the housing sector; including mortgages and finances, the
legal process, the process of putting an offer on a house and the different
schemes available through the Council and other housing associations to support
first time buyers.
Advice was provided to
those who attended by; Breese Gwyndaf, Tai Teg, 75
Point 3, Cymdeithas Tai Eryri, Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd, Gamlins, BRArchitecture,
Dafydd Hardy, Gwynedd Council and
Carbon Zero.

Williams, Gwynedd Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for housing
said:
“I am extremely pleased
that so many people attend this important event. As a Council one of our key
priorities is to ensure that Gwynedd residents can find suitable and affordable
homes in their local communities.
“Events like these are critical and as a Council we
realise that by working with partners, local groups and local communities we
can provide the best opportunities for housing across the county.
“Following the success of the event we hope to
organise another event like this in the future in the Bangor area.”
At the end of the event
people has a chance to complete a first time buyers questionnaire as part of Gwynedd
Council’s research work to the possibility of launching a Local Authority
Mortgage Scheme (LAMS).
