Llanbeblig Clearance starts today! |

Roll over mage to see the work started . |

As you all know Caernarfon Online has been campaigning for quite some time now to get Llanbeblig churchyard cleared. On Monday 28th November the Welsh Guards moved in to start the work. This is fabulous news and our thanks goes out to The Mayor Tudor Owen for is hard work behind the scenes as well as Captain Terry Harman and Malcolm Jones the Church Warden. All parties got together to ensure that the churchyard clearance could go on. Dewi Llwyd Evans of Cydlynydd Cymunedau Peblig has arranged for a donation of £100 to go towards the cost of petrol to run the strimmers whilst some of the The Town Council's donation of £1,000 went towards hiring ten strimmers. Warden Chris Walker also supplied two more strimmers and a wheel barrow on Monday. |

Gareth Edwards congratulates the Mayor on getting the job done. |

I met with the Mayor this morning to congratulate him on the good work he has done. Tudor turned up in his working clothes to muck in and said he was delighted that all this had come together, he was extremely grateful to the Welsh Guards for carrying out the work, which should be completed by Friday. |

Malcolm Jones Church warden was also present and would like to thank everyone involved with the project and was pleased that COL had help publicise the problem in a positive light. |

Captain Terry Harman of The Welsh Guards 1st Battalion was pleased that his unit could help the town, he had hoped he could have come earlier but other commitments prevented this from happening. I mentioned that it was pleasing to see the weather was on our side, to which he replied that the weather was not an issue, as they would work through hail and storm to get the job completed. |

Work started promptly at 8am and by 10am the cemetery already looked better. It was good to see local lads getting involved and Caernarfon Online would like to thank Captain Terry for his dedication and involvement. |

Tudor and warden Chris Walker check out the equipment at the entrance, whilst one worker goes to it with an axe to clear a path for the machinery. Caernarfon Online is very proud to have played a part in getting this job done and would like to thank everyone of you who wrote in with emails of support for our campaign.
