Sri Lanka comes to Caernarfon

A Deputy minister from the Sri Lankan Government came to Caernarfon to thank the town for all the donations the country had received following the Boxing Day tsunami tragedy which devestated the country.
The North Wales visit was arranged by Esmor Davies of Buckley. Mr Davies is a builder who has already built a school in the country and promised to build another in the near future.

Hon. P Rohitha Abeygunawardana MP Deputy Minister came with his team and were given a guided tour of the world famous Caernarfon castle.

Caernarfon had donated thousands to the fund and an additional £1,000 was donated from the Mayors fund. The Caernarfon Mayor wished to thank the following people for making this a special day. The Sri Lankan Govenrment officials, Adam Edwards (representing the youngsters of Caernarfon) Charles Jones Chairman of Gwynedd Council, the Lady Mayoress, Gareth Edwards Caernarfon Chamber of Commerce Chairman and editor of Caernarfon Online and his wife Meriel, the Deputy Mayor Tudor Owen, Councillors - Richard M Jones, Anita Kirk, Ioan Thomas, Myfi Powell and her husband Mr K Powell, Reverand Donaldson, Esmor Davies, Cadw, The staff at the Celtic Royal and all the reporters and photographers of the local papres.
